Located on the scenic Niagara Gorge, and only a few minutes walk from the Falls, Bird Kingdom hosts a diverse collection of almost 500 birds representing nearly 80 species from all around the world, many of them threatened or endangered in the wild. Bird Kingdom’s authentic walk-thru environments create an intimate, up-close interaction between you and free-flying birds, including opportunities to personally interact with the different species. The Main Atrium is truly a sight to behold and is a multi-level rain forest environment, complete with 35 foot tall Palm Trees, a 40 foot tall waterfall, ponds and streams! There is nothing else like it in North America!
A visit to the Butterfly Museum is a must…A butterfly is the closest we will ever see to flowers in flight. Their meandering flight patterns seem to paint the room with color. Exotic greenery and flowing water set the stage for the fluttering and soaring of several hundred butterflies. Dozens of different species of butterflies move through the climate-controlled 11,000 sq. ft. conservatory. Enjoy the butterflies as you make your way along a 600 ft. network of paths. In the Emergence area, watch as the butterflies make their way out of their chrysalides. There is a wide variety of foliage inside the conservatory, so the butterflies always have a source of food from the plants in bloom. As you walk along the pathways, look closely and carefully to observe the grace and agility of these beautiful creatures of flight. You might even catch a glimpse of them feeding, uncoiling their mouthparts to sip nectar from the colorful flowers. If you wear bright colors they just might land on you!

Walk on Lower Observation Deck at the very foot of the Falls and experience the awesome spectacle of one-fifth of the world’s fresh water crashing down to the basin below. The Welland Canal…is another stop on our Niagara Area Tour. Here we hope to see an ocean freighter navigate the locks. From the elevated viewing platform at Lock 3, get a close-up look at ships from around the world and experience the wonder of the Welland Canal. Ships transit the canal regularly from April to December. There is a great gift shop and snack bar for ice cream, coffee and light snacks. There are washroom facilities on site. The museum and viewing platform are handicap accessible. Please note that we cannot guarantee there will be any ships. However there is a full scale replica of the locks where you can learn just how they work without any pumps at all. Today we will also make a mystery stop on our way to Niagara-0n-the-Lake a quaint little village of shops and eateries.
