Oct 9-13 Mon-Fri, Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg TN Tour 2580

It’s still there…and no, the fire did not destroy the tourist area.

This tour will include 5 shows  and 8 meals.

This tour will take us to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg TN. While they have just survived a horrendous fast moving fire, the tourist area was spared. All the favorite spots we plan to visit are still there and intact.  Join us for this scenic and entertaining tour. The last time we were there everyone thought the shows were even better than the Grand Ole Opry.  Come see for yourself.  Included will be a guided tour into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Travel the scenic mountain road around the famous “Loop” by way of the high-rising Chimney Tops.  At the top of the mountain we will stop at Newfound Gap which marks the Tennessee, North Carolina State line.  You will have opportunities for photos at scenic stops along the way. At an elevation of 5,048 feet, Newfound Gap is the lowest driveable pass through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Half of the park lies in Tennessee and half in North Carolina. Rockefeller Memorial honors a $5 million donation from the Rockefeller Foundation to help complete land acquisitions to bring about the reality of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Appalachian Trail crosses over Newfound Gap Road and straddles the state line between North Carolina and Tennessee for most of its length through the park.  We take time for you to straddle the marker and stand in two states at the same time.

The first of many shows we will see is the Patty Waszak Show.  It is a high energy, heartwarming variety show featuring a wide variety of music including big band favorites, polkas, 50s and 60s rock “n” roll, country music, 70s disco, show tunes, patriotic, hits of the 80s, 90s, current hits; ethnic melodies, audience participation, sing-a-long, and music trivia.  Also featured are some of Patty’s original songs.  She currently performs using thirty instruments. Patty is a vocalist, musician, and comedienne and has been known to dance a step or two. Her enthusiasm for entertainment and sincere love of her audience is evident in every performance. She says she’s there to “re-charge your battery” and she does. This lively, up-tempo show has pleased audiences of all ages. It is produced to the highest artistic standards possible with an emphasis on wholesome and healthy values.

Another show and one of my favorites is the Country Tonite Theatre. Experience this high-energy full-scale production located in a 1500 seat multi-million dollar theatre. You’re sure to understand why this spectacular show has won so many awards including “2001-2010 Show of the Year”, “Best Live Country Show in America” and “Best Show in the Smokies”! In its 14th year in Pigeon Forge, Country Tonite continues to provide the best in quality entertainment with singing, dancing, comedy, gospel, patriotic, and more, filling this two-hour show. From old country to new country, our country theater has it all. If you want to hear classic country music, visit this country theatre for a music experience you won’t forget at the best country show in town.

Granny’s “all you can eat” mountain fest includes:  fried chicken, pork barbecue, creamy soup, mashed taters, corn on the cob, bread, coleslaw and dessert. Vegetarian option is available.

Smith Morning Variety Show is at The Smoky Mountain Opry Theater.  Charlie Bob Smith, formerly with the Grand Majestic Theater, is starring in this all new show.  He brings his unique mix of country, pop and gospel hits to the stage as well as his world-class impersonations.  Also appearing with Charlie Bob is nationally known comedian Billy Baker and a multi-talented cast of singers, dancers and musicians.

Music Mansion Show…Formally the Smokey Mountain Opry is the area’s largest musical variety show starring a talented cast of singers, dancers, aerialists, comedians and musicians!  The family entertainment show includes all different types of music:  country hits, both old and new, today’s pop, the best of Broadway, 60’s review, gospel and patriotic music, and sidesplitting comedic juggling; The Smoky Mountain Opry has it all!  Gracing the stage is one of only 300 rare white lions in existence today!  “Southern Living” magazine recently named The Smoky Mountain Opry as the “Don’t Miss Variety Show” in Pigeon Forge.
