Since its inception in October 1971, Janosik has been devoted to the performing of Polish dance, Polish song, and the preservation and discrimination of Polish customs and culture. In this country, Janosik dancers are known widely for their spectacular performances, their adherence to the authentic tradition of Polish folklore, their excellent dance technique, as well as their vast costume collection, which spans all of Poland, and consists of many sets of costumes. They currently are the only group outside of Poland to perform the PLOKA-MAZURKA.
