Hunterdon Hills Playhouse

We just attended the summer musical with 42 persons on board.  After the show everyone agreed it was a great show.  We received a flyer for next years show, an all new Patriotic Musical Revue PATRIOTIC MUSICAL REVUE called “The Land We Love” and we booked it for Aug 15, 2017 tour # 2533.  It looks like this will be their best one yet. Evidently eleven people thought so too and have already booked it.   This is one you really don’t want to miss.

Familiarization tour

Shirley and I just got back from a familiarization tour to some new places and visiting some old places. Our first stop was Gillette Castle in the far east end of CT. A beautiful old stone castle that looks like a fortress but inside has all the comforts of home. Unfortunately due to budget cuts by state it is only open Thursday to Sundays. There is a nice gift shop and restaurant on the ground. http://www.ct.gov/deep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=325204&deepNav_GID=1650http://www.ct.gov/deep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=325204&deepNav_GID=1650
Our second stop was to visit with our old friends Cliff & Ann Kaiser who used to manage the Horizon Inn that a lot of us have visited. They have moved to the “Inn at Crumpton Fox” and are running it just like they did the Horizon Inn. The new location in Bernardston MA, just below the VT line is in a much better location to run a “New England Experience” tour. www.crumpinfoxinn.com
From there we moved on to Hogansburg NY which is just across the St Lawrence River at Cornwall ON. There we went to the “Akwesasne Mohawk Casino”. They have nearly 2000 slots and tables as well with a great hotel. While it is too far for an overnight run, we would like to work it into another tour. It is a great stop. Of course we visited several more casinos on the way home. http://mohawkcasino.com/
Singer Castle in the Thousand Islands was our next stop. While we have done the Boldt Castle many times we have never done this on. It is similar to Boldt but it was never abandoned and is it great shape. It is also stone and is available to rent. Accessible by boat only we had a nice visit and tour. www.singercastle.com

Niagara Falls NY

On a recent visit to Niagara Falls we found that they are making great progress on the Niagara State Park and it should be finished long before we get there and you will be amazed at the difference.  Looking forward to the tour in October when we make our first tour on the American side of the Falls.

Tioga Downs

We recently checked out the Tioga Downs Casino and Racetrack.   They are making great changes here.  Right now they have about 800 slots and no tables but they are adding more slots bringing them up to 1000 slots and about 55 tables.  They are adding a new hotel and a sports area with all kinds of entertainment.  This will make them truly a destination resort.
